Lemon Festival - Menton, Southern France.

Each year the Lemon Festival is held in Menton, France.  
It has been running for over 70 Years. Citrus fruit sculptures according to a theme are created. Each year more than 300 professionals use about 145 tons of citrus fruits to make beautiful works of art.
The theme for the majority of the images below is the 'Netherlands'. 

Amazing! Hours of work! It appears the fruit is held on the structures using rubberbands! How clever is that! 

The theme for year 2012, which will be held from February 17 to 7 march, 2012, is "King of Sport".
